FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

  • No leaner is denied admission on the grounds of race, gender, origin (otherwise or social) religion, faith, color, culture, and inability to pay school fees, language or age.
  • Assessment is used only to determine the placement of the child either in junior, middle or senior group (psychological). Psychometric testes and medical testes are done
  • In determining the placement of the leaner with special education needs as is our case, we take into account the rights and wishes of the parents of such learners.
  • If an application is refused, the head of department should inform the parent in writing of such refusal and the reason there of should be given.
The parent of the learner who has been refused admission may appeal against the decision to the MEC of education.

Placement of learners

  • Due to the fact that we are an LSEN school, learners are placed in classes

According to their ages first and then according to interests and ability. We have three phases i.e. junior phase, middle phase, and senior phase. We cater for the following skills as our school is a training Centre i.e. brick-making, home economics, art, wood-work, pottery, bakery and hair salon, computer and metal work .

Responsibility for administration of admissions

  • The principal is responsible for administration of admission, assisted by the assessment committee in this regard comprising of the following people:
  • Mr. J.M. Molefe (Principal)
  • Mrs. Lulu Nxasana
  • Mrs. Maggy Masehla
  • Yandiswa Galada
  • Mrs. Leah Lefakane
  • Grace Madumo

District education coordinator provides ongoing support to our school in the administration of admissions. Learners if admitted are registered and entered into the school admission register and given an admission number. Those with outstanding documents or those that are being referred are firstly put on the waiting list.

  • The assessment committee is responsible for the administration and placement of learners after admission. They are also responsible for an ongoing assessment of learners together with educators for further placement in their appropriate phases or groups.
